Hyperbaric Chamber Therapy

(Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy / HBOT)
Home / View All Procedures / Hyperbaric Chamber Therapy
Support faster healing after surgery by breathing pure oxygen at increased pressure.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) involves resting comfortably inside a pressurized chamber while breathing pure oxygen, which dissolves at higher concentrations into the blood plasma than is possible at normal air pressure. That extra oxygen supply is delivered to healing tissue throughout the body, which is why HBOT is offered as a recovery-support option after certain surgical procedures.

What This Procedure Can Address

  • Increases the amount of oxygen carried in the bloodstream to support healing tissue
  • Offered as a recovery-support option after larger procedures such as a tummy tuck or mommy makeover
  • May help reduce swelling and bruising during the early recovery period
  • Sessions are relaxed and painless; many patients read, rest, or nap during treatment
  • Scheduled as a series of sessions tailored to your procedure and recovery plan
Considered as an add-on for surgical patients during recovery; not appropriate for everyone, including patients with certain lung conditions, so Dr. Fabio's team screens each candidate individually.

Technique & Recovery

Each session takes place in a comfortable pressurized chamber and typically lasts 60 to 90 minutes; most recovery-support plans call for a short series of sessions in the days following surgery rather than a single visit. Patients are awake and relaxed throughout, with the ability to communicate with staff at any time.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is used here specifically to support recovery from surgery and is not a treatment for any medical condition on its own; Dr. Fabio's team will let you know whether it's a good fit for your procedure and health history during your consultation.
